My fans turn on around 40 degrees Celsius and it is very distracting. Why is there such a low threshold for the fans turning on?
My friend just bought a Dell G5 and we had them side by side handling similar workloads. His fans were not on, while mine were on an idle speed. His fans don't turn on until about 70 degrees Celsius.
I have my BIOS "Fans Always On" setting disabled, so when the computer starts up the fans are typically off for a minute or two.
The left fan under WASD is the only one that runs at these light loads. Since I typically only do very light work, I've seriously thought about just opening my computer and unplugging the thing. I can't stand it. This makes Dell seem so much better than HP.
How do I increase the threshold of when my fans turn on? They seem to turn on way too soon.
Thanks.
