My CPU gets rediculous hot on low loads (30% - up to 90 Celsius) even on Idle the temperatur gets above 80.
I recognized the problem in Games, at some random point the FPS got ridiculously low. So i checked via Prime95, XSBench and some other. I also worked with the perfomance Settings of HP Omen Hub. The result was at some Point the CPU Clock gets suddenly restricted to 780MHZ and Stucks there untill reboot. It does not matter wich Omen-Hub-Mode you are (comfort, Standard, performance or maxed cooling). Even undervolting resultet in the same issue. Tomorrow i‘ll check the cooling physically and change thermal paste.
Where does the 780MHZ Lock come from? Is it BIOS/UEFI or is it driver related?
Why is Performance-Mode in Omen Hub forcing the CPU permantly into Turbo Boost (4.7 ghz in Idle is …. like using a steamcleaner to do your dishes)
I really apreciate the Omen Notebook series, its well done with the metal housing, it got a pretty nice cooling system and performance . I think its restricted due consumer related purpose. BIOS Settings are restricted so tight….but pls use our Omen-Hub to undervolt…

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.
Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:
- Did this happen after a recent window or software update?
- Did you make any changes to the settings of your PC prior to the issue?
While you respond to that, let's try these steps:
Hard Reset: Follow steps from the link: https://hp.care/2GnkMa8. (Refer to the removable and sealed battery)
BIOS default:(do not skip any troubleshooting steps even if you feel steps are repeating)
- Turn off the computer and wait five seconds.
- Press the Power button to start the computer and repeatedly press the F10 key to enter the BIOS setup menu.
- On the BIOS Setup screen, press F9 to select and load the BIOS Setup Default settings.
- Press F10 to Save and Exit.
- Use the arrow keys to select Yes, then press Enter when asked Exit Saving Changes?
- Follow the prompts to restart your computer.
And, also run BIOS Update: Follow steps from the link: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c00042629
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

Sry for the late answer.
Bios is Up to Date, also drivers are up to date.
According to my researches the issue is not HP Omen relatet.
Also Dell and Acer Notebooks with i7 10750H got the same Issue.
On battery in idle the CPU Voltage dropped under 0.78v with instantly
locked CPU to 0.78Ghz..C1 the lowest clock the CPU is able to.
To avoid a permanently stuck on 0.78Ghz on battery, i had to disable the "adaptive battery optimizer" in UEFI/Bios.
There are still moments of low clock 798 Mhz but are recovering after a few seconds to usual clock and keeping it the rest of the runtime.
This gives a glue of undervolting doesnt help.
With powersupply its like a lottery. You get the performance hours and hours and next day you get stuck at 780Mhz with the same applications.
