HP Thunderbold 120W G2
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

I bought an HP Omen Notebook 15" with a nvidia 2070 Graphics card (Dont know the exact model) and I also bought the HP Thunderbold Dockingstation 120W G2 (https://store.hp.com/GermanyStore/Merch/Product.aspx?id=2UK37AA&opt=ABB&sel=ACC&lang=de-DE&gclid=Cjw...

It looks good good. The Docking station is recognized and if I plugin USB devices like mouse and keyboard they are recogonized and can be used. I installed all drivers and updated the Firmware, too. If I now connect my 4K Monitor with the DP cable it gets recognized by the notebook. I can extend or duplicate the monitor, from software point of view it looks good.

But the monitor itself keeps black, I dont see anything. I switched through all input sources without any change.

Has anyone an idea what it could be. I connected the notebook with the attached usb-c kabel to the docking station.

Would be great if someone has an idea.

Thanks and best

Andreas

I tried it now with different Monitors (2160p, 1440p and 1200p) each monitor shows "no connection" and a black screen. In the display settings of windows or nvidia control center I can see the monitors but they kept black.

OK another weired result.

The Docking station with an dell notebook works an the same monitors and my hp omen with the dell docking station works also with the same monitors. Completely confusing is that the hp omen with the hp dockingstation on different monitors is working. I'm completely confused now.

Looks like that the VGA Port works, If I connect a monitor with vga I see the second display and it shows an image. But as far as I connect a monitor to the Displayport slots the monitor shows "no signal found", but on windows I see him.

Currently I dont know further solution options. I guess I have to send back the docking station and try another one. From Dell or something like this, because there seems to work.
