Operating System: Microsoft Windows 11
Have a roommate with an Omen 15Z-en001 gaming omen laptop. He does not power it on much but recently has been getting the Bad Hard Disk error. can the HDD be replaced without replacing the System Board

According to your service manual (on pages 1-2), a type of the storage drive in your notebook is M.2 NVMe SSD 2280.
You don't need to replace the motherboard. You can just replace an M.2 SSD drive.
Pages 32-34 of the manual shows how to replace M.2 SSD drives.
