Greetings,
My HP Omen 16.1 is currently not booting at all, giving several types of errors.
It started after reinstalling Windows 11 to clean out all preinstalled programs. I then installed Windows updates and drivers for my GPU. After that, I was prompted by the AMD Adrenalin software to restart my computer, but it did not boot. I opened the laptop as seen in HP support videos to try several solutions, such as:
- disconnecting battery and pressing the power button for 15 seconds
- reseating ram (one of the sticks was actually not seated the right way when I opened the laptop, it was sticking out the metal retention tabs slightly but I think it was still recognized by the system, unfortunately I didn't have a chance to see whether my system detected 16 or 8 GB of ram)
- powering on the laptop while pressing win key + B
- powering on the laptop while pressing win key + V
- connecting to an external monitor (the display is most likely not the issue since I did get a video output a few times).
Most of these fixes I found in this video, https://youtu.be/sj6kYmT7GLs, but I found it peculiar that my laptop didn't turn on at all without the battery plugged in when it had the AC adapter powering it.
I've encountered these errors so far:
- power button blinking continuously after pressing it (does not happen anymore, only the next errors appear)
- power button stays on after pressing it, but display does not turn on and neither do the fans
- power button stays on after pressing it, display turns on, fans turn on but the display stays black
- power button stays on after pressing it, a CMOS 502 checksum invalid error appears on display, after 15 seconds the laptop restarts and presents the same error as the previous point (display turns on, stays black, fans also turn on)
- the most recent one, the laptop seems to be booting into an automatic repair mode, then after showing the Omen logo the loading indicator just freezes, as seen in the pic.
I think I've exhausted all options I had in terms of getting this laptop to boot, I would have tried the BIOS recovery using a USB stick but the newer HP installation assistant is confusing and the steps don't match between the wizard and what's shown on the site.
Best regards.

I am replying with yet another error, now after shutting down the laptop (it was frozen for quite some time, at least 15 minutes) and restarting it, I am greeted with just the Omen logo and a loading indicator that seems to keep on spinning, not freezing like on the Repair mode one, but still not booting. I think my best course of action is through warranty, but I'm leaving this thread here.
Another edit, I managed to get into the BIOS screen, there I found that all my ram was detected and also four 0502 system log codes, after exiting the BIOS I got the closest to booting as I ever was, I got a Repair mode loading screen once again, but this time it didn't freeze and eventually I was shown the Windows "We ran into a problem and the computer needs to be restarted" screen, now after restarting I got greeted with another "infinite" Omen loading screen.

Would installing Windows 10 keep the Windows license? The laptop initially came with Windows 11 installed.
As a side note, I did a battery test after following the instructions (unplugged the AC adapter and let the battery drain for 20 minutes) and it turns out it wasn't a battery issue since the test passed.

I tried reinstalling Windows and tried both changing the boot order in BIOS to put the USB Hard Drive first and also directly from the Boot Menu but both times, after a few minutes of waiting, I was greeted with a blue screen error that tells me I should restart, with the error code being: "DRIVER_PNP_WATCHDOG".
