Hello,
I have purchased a HP omen 16 wfoxxx rtx 4060, i7 13700 hx model 2 months ago. Ever since i bought it, it has been running flawlessly. The only issue that is bothering me is its poor battery life. I'm getting around 1-1.5hrs on a charge doing light works like web browsing, using office apps etc. Its 83WH battery was advertised to get around 6hr battery life but im getting around 1-1.5 hrs. of battery life. Some solutions explain to uninstall Omen Gaming Hub but even after doing so there is no difference. I have also done the calibration but didn't get any improvements.
Please help me on this matter

Hi @Shashank_11,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like your HP Omen 16 is underperforming when it comes to battery life, which can be frustrating given the advertised battery life and your usage. Here are some steps you can try to improve your battery performance.
Update Drivers and BIOS
- Ensure that all your system drivers, especially the power management and graphics drivers, are up-to-date. HP frequently releases updates that improve battery life and power management.
- Also, check for any BIOS updates on the HP website. Sometimes, BIOS updates include improvements for battery life and power efficiency.
Battery Settings and Power Plan
- Check your power settings in Windows. Set your laptop to Balanced or Power Saver mode. The High Performance mode may lead to higher power consumption.
- Open Control Panel > Power Options and set your laptop to Balanced. You can also adjust the screen brightness and turn off any background apps that are not needed.
- In the Omen Gaming Hub, even after uninstalling, ensure that you're not running any unnecessary features that may consume battery. Check for any power-intensive settings or background apps.
Disable or Adjust High-Power Components
RTX 4060: The graphics card can consume a lot of power, especially in games or graphics-heavy tasks. If you're doing light work like web browsing, consider setting your laptop to use integrated graphics instead of the dedicated GPU. You can do this in the NVIDIA Control Panel by setting the default graphics processor to Integrated Graphics.
Background Apps: Close or disable background apps that you don't need running. You can do this from Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc) or by adjusting startup programs.
Display Settings
- The Omen 16 likely has a high refresh rate display (such as 144Hz or higher), which can consume more power. If you're just browsing or working on documents, you can reduce the refresh rate. Right-click on the desktop, go to Display Settings, and adjust the refresh rate to a lower setting (like 60Hz).
Battery Health
- It's worth checking if the battery health is as expected. You can run a battery report from Windows:
- Open Command Prompt as administrator and type: powercfg /batteryreport
- This will generate a battery report in the folder C:\Users\[Your Name]. Open the file and check the battery's health and capacity.

Windows Power Settings
- Open Settings > System > Power & Battery and make sure Battery Saver is enabled when you're running on battery. You can also adjust when the power saver kicks in.
Disable Certain Features
- If you are not using Bluetooth, disable it.
- Also, ensure that any features like keyboard lighting or other RGB elements are turned off, as these can sometimes drain power.
Check for Any Software Bugs
- Sometimes, certain software issues can cause excessive battery drain. Open Task Manager and look for any processes that are using an unusually high amount of CPU or power. You can end the task if it's unnecessary.
If you've tried all these steps and still get less than expected battery life, there may be an underlying hardware issue with the battery or power management system
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

I have already tried every method that you have mentioned but the result is still the same, I'm still getting 1-1.5hr of battery life. My drivers and bios are up to date, tried disabling rtx 4060, tried power saver tried turning off Wi-Fi and Bluetooth but shockingly still it is showing 1-1.5 hrs. of battery life.
Attatched is the battery health report
any further solutions??
