OMEN by HP 34 inch WQHD 165Hz Curved Gaming Monitor - OMEN 34c

Is this monitor compatible with my MacBook Air 2020 M1? I connected the monitor but the display only covers some of the monitor - I have 3-4" black bars on each side. Changing the resolution in Mac settings do not help.

Solution found!

I have a 2020 M1 MacBook Air and made it work with a HP Omen 34c by using a Insignia USB-C to Display Port Cable (Best Buy $28). First I connected with an USB-C to HDMI adapter from Satechi - that did not work. Contacted HP for assistance who suggested to talk to Apple. Apple could initially not help: they said to update the OS. That did not work so the issue to escalate to a Sr. advisor. She said that the adapter is the problem - I must use the Apple USB-C to Digital Multiport Adapter. Tried that - nothing. Thanks to reading this thread I thought I will give it a try by connecting a Display Port cable and - BANG! Running 3440-1440 now.
