I haven't tried re-installing, but I can. I'll let you know after a day or two if I still have the issue. As it is, omen control works correctly and can now control the fans, but it may change once I install the new SEU.

My fan speed started freaking out in the past week. Not sure exactly when it started, but I haven't downlaoded anything that should have access to randomly adjusting fan speeds. They are constantly going from fast and loud to slow and silent when my computer is just idling doing literally nothing, or using the internet, or playing a game. Nothing I do on the computer seems to have an effect on the fan speed anymore. Any idea what would be causing this? or even where to look for solutions? I have an HP Omen that I bought around a year ago.

It's either the system event utility or the bios. They update both quite frequently so keep an eye out and eventually it will get fixed. They had it fixed a few months back but it looks like the latest updates brought the issue back so I'm sure they'll fix it again.
