I have the same problem and i would like to add something.
I bought the Omen 16 Max with Ryzen 350 and 5070ti cause with the installed thermals and the possibility to tune it for efficiency I was looking for a great quiet gaming experience. The decision to buy it was also influenced by the fact that HP sets a good example regarding repairability, with your video showing all repair steps for all of the components
So while the hardware mostly does not disappoint (USB-C placement, 240 IPS Panel without G-sync, bad keyboard layout choice), the software is real crap, there is no other way to put it, 2 weeks in I am thinking about selling this thing and never buying HP again.
Omen Gaming Hub in my mind is a key part for a good laptop, a great example is lenovo vantage, its structure is almost the same but lenovo does ist better in every way.
Omen Gaming Hub
- is very slow and laggy
- is overbloated and contains advertisements
- has only a few useful settings for power limits, it should have an easy way to limit GPU and CPU TDP
- fan curves have limited range (only 2000 rpm and up)
- has a problem with switching between performance modes, the FN+P shortcus does not always work and feels laggy, lenovos way always worked
- the ECO mode always sets 60Hz Refresh Rate and additionally imposes an FPS limit of 60fps in the NV Control Panel, there is no option to disable this automatic behavior

Oh I absolutely understand you. While I am a bit disappointed that the frame is plastic (and it already cracked at both edges when swapping the SSD), the hardware is still very nice and I overall do very much like this laptop as well.
But just as you say, software is a mess. Now that the OGH is deinstalled, I can't even control properly my RGB keyboard. I somehow managed to get it to a single colour but this seemed to have stopped out of nowhere as of yesterday, leaving me with a non-functional keyboard light, just because I choose to not have constant fan noise. Quite a mess!
I do recommend you though, to create your own post about this issue to generate more awareness throughout the HP support community and also to provide feedback directly through the OGH, as there is a feedback button. Maybe (hopefully!) they'll take care of it soon enough...
