Playing any CPU heavy game (over 70% utilisation) the CPU will reach 90+ degrees C. This causes the CPU to thermal throttle.
I have warranty for another 9 or 10 months but I'm thinking I might have to re-paste the CPU.
The CPU fans seem to be working properly and at the right speeds, not too loud but I can hear them.

@BorinaSoaring, Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
Your OMEN Transcend 14 inch gaming laptop PC reaching 90+ degrees Celsius during heavy gaming scenarios could be causing thermal throttling, which is quite concerning. Here are some steps you can take to optimize the temperature and performance:
Using OMEN Gaming Hub:
- Open the OMEN Gaming Hub and utilize the System Vitals tool to monitor CPU and GPU temperatures.
- Change your performance settings:
- Performance mode: suitable for gaming but may increase temperature and fan noise.
- Comfort mode: lowers CPU and GPU temperatures for casual tasks.
- Max Fan mode: ensure maximum cooling by increasing fan speed.
Placement: Ensure the laptop is placed on a hard surface to allow proper airflow. Avoid soft surfaces like beds or carpets that can block fan air inlet/outlet.
Ambient Temperature: Keep an eye on your room temperature as lower ambient temperatures can help your device run cooler.
Cleaning Maintenance: Periodically clean the fan to ensure airflow is not obstructed by dust.
Given that your laptop still has warranty coverage, you should avoid re-pasting the CPU yourself, as it might void the warranty. Contact HP Support and explain the thermal issues. They might provide a solution or even conduct a repair service.
