I want to add RAM to my laptop. The Maintenance and Service Guide says:

Is it possible to put two memory modules of 16 gigabytes in a laptop?

Its specs

   https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c06549638

It has   8 GB DDR4-2400 SDRAM (2 x 4 GB)   (both slots are occupied). You can upgrade to

  (a) 16GB using

               https://www.crucial.com/memory/ddr4/ct2k8g4sfs824a/ct17774815

  (b) 32GB (max) using

              https://www.crucial.com/memory/ddr4/ct2k16g4sfd824a/ct17774772

You can upgrade to something in between (ie 12GB (4+8) , 20GB (4+16) , 24GB (8+16)) but to take benefit of dual channels architecture you need both slots have SAME RAM

Regards.
