(1) Open cmd.exe as (right click as) administrator and execute:

sfc  /scannow

 

(2Reboot 

 

(3) Open cmd.exe as (right click as) administrator and execute:

 

msdt.exe /id WindowsUpdateDiagnostic

 

Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth

 

Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth

 

Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

 

(4Reboot and install HP Support Assistant 

(5) Please report your results

Yes, I tried to install it but it failed to install. The setup shows that the installation is completed successfully & when I try to open it I am unable to open the HP Support Assistant.

- Go to installation directory of HP Support Assistant, look for (error) log files

- Is there an error message when opening the HP Support Assistant?

(1) Remember HP Support Assitant <directory>

(2) Uninstall HP Support Assistant

(3) Reboot

(4) Is HP support Assistant <directory> still present ?
