My HP Victus 16 notebook doesn’t turn on at all, it gives no response, and the charging light doesn’t come on when I plug in the charger.

Hi @GorkemD,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

You mentioned that your HP Victus 16 notebook is not turning on, gives no response, and the charging light doesn’t come on when the charger is plugged in.

Check Power Source and Charger

Ensure the wall outlet is working by testing another device.

Confirm that you are using the original HP charger.

Perform a Hard Reset

Disconnect the charger and any peripherals.

Press and hold the Power button for 15–20 seconds.

Plug the charger back in and try to turn on the laptop.

Inspect the Charger and Port

Check for any damage on the charging cable, connector, or charging port.

If possible, try another compatible HP charger.

Battery Reset (If Removable)

If your model has a removable battery, take it out for a few minutes, then reinsert and try powering on.

I hope this helps.

Thank you for your reply. However, as I mentioned, the laptop does not respond in any way. I held down the power button for 1 minute and also tried several key combinations, but nothing worked. I am using the original battery and charger. I noted that the charging light does not come on to indicate that it is not receiving power.

I suspect it might be a motherboard issue, although there has been no liquid contact or physical damage. I used it in the evening as usual, closed the laptop, and in the morning it was in the condition I described.

At this point, I am not sure what I should do.

Hi @GorkemD,

Thank you for sharing these additional details. Since your HP Victus 16 shows no power indicators, no charging light, and no response to hard resets or key combinations, and you’ve already confirmed the use of the original HP charger, this points toward a hardware-level issue (such as the system board, charging circuitry, or internal battery).

At this stage, here are the recommended next steps:

1. Try a Different Wall Outlet & Charger (if available)

Just to rule out a faulty charger or socket, test with another compatible HP adapter and a different wall outlet.

2. Inspect the Charging Port & Connector

Carefully check if the charging port is loose, damaged, or blocked with dust/debris. Even a slight obstruction can prevent charging.

3. Perform an Embedded Battery Reset (if supported)

Some HP notebooks have a small reset pinhole at the bottom (near the battery icon). Insert a paperclip and hold it for 5–10 seconds, then reconnect the charger and try powering on.

I hope this helps.
