@Izlania, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

That sounds super frustrating, especially in fast-paced online games! 😩 Since this only happens during gameplay and affects all inputs (keyboard, mouse, and trackpad), it could be a system-level issue rather than just a specific hardware fault. Let’s go through some potential causes and fixes:

1. Check for High CPU or GPU Usage (Thermal Throttling)

If your laptop is overheating, it might momentarily freeze input devices.

Open Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc) > Performance Tab while gaming.

If CPU or GPU usage is maxed out, try lowering in-game settings.

2. Disable USB Power Saving

Go to Device Manager (Win + X > Device Manager).

Expand Universal Serial Bus controllers.

Right-click each USB Root Hub > Properties > Power Management tab.

Uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power."

Do the same for Human Interface Devices > HID-compliant devices.

3. Update Keyboard, Mouse & Trackpad Drivers

In Device Manager, expand Keyboards, Mice, and Human Interface Devices.

Right-click and select Update driver > Search automatically.

If the issue persists, try uninstalling the device and then restarting drivers.

4. Test on Battery vs. Plugged-In Mode

If the issue happens only when plugged in, check the power plan settings:

Go to Control Panel > Power Options.

Select High Performance or Balanced and disable USB Selective Suspend under advanced settings.

5. BIOS & Chipset Driver Updates (HP Consumer Notebook PCs - Updating the BIOS (Basic Input Output System) (Windows) | undefined)

Check HP Support Assistant or download updates from HP’s website.

Also, update your AMD/Intel chipset drivers for better USB and input stability.

6. Disable Filter Keys (Windows Accessibility Bug)

Open Settings > Accessibility > Keyboard.

Turn OFF Filter Keys—this can cause input lag or unresponsiveness.

Let me know what you've tried so far, and I’ll help you dig deeper! 🎮🔥

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
