I purchased an HP Victus 15 in April 2024, and over the past two months, I have been experiencing significant battery issues. Despite using the laptop for basic tasks such as web browsing, the battery drains within 1.5 hours of operation.

I have followed all troubleshooting steps provided by HP Support and have submitted the required files multiple times. Unfortunately, the issue persists. I believe that repeating the same steps has not resolved the problem. Given the circumstances, I would like to request a more direct and effective solution.

If your HP Victus 15 battery drains quickly despite following troubleshooting steps provided by HP Support, and you believe you've exhausted typical solutions, here are some advanced steps and suggestions to help you address the issue more effectively:

**1. Advanced Battery and Power Management Checks

Battery Health Report:

  • Windows: Open Command Prompt and run powercfg /batteryreport. This generates a report that can be viewed in your user folder. Review the report for details about battery health and usage.

Power Options Settings:

  • Go to Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Power Options.
  • Choose Change plan settings for your active power plan, then Change advanced power settings.
  • Check settings under Battery and Processor power management. Ensure that the settings are optimized for battery life.

**2. Investigate and Manage Power-Hungry Applications

Task Manager:

  • Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.
  • Check the Processes tab to see which applications are using the most power. Consider closing or uninstalling unnecessary applications.

Battery Usage by App:

  • Go to Settings > System > Battery > Battery usage by app. This will show which apps are consuming the most power.

**3. Update or Roll Back Drivers

Update Drivers:

  • Go to Device Manager, expand Batteries, right-click on Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery, and select Update driver.
