Victus by HP 16.1 inch Gaming Laptop PC 16-e0000 (457S2AV)

I did get a Microsoft office student 2021 with my HP Victus, but when I reinstalled windows I lost my microsoft key. I did not link it with any Microsoft account. My windows did get activated automatically upon install of the new windows OS. How do I recover the key.

Hi @RoopanJK,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

To recover your Microsoft Office key after reinstalling Windows on your HP Victus, especially since it was not linked to a Microsoft account, you might need to take a few specific steps. Since the Windows activation occurred automatically, it suggests that your HP Victus uses a digital license stored in the UEFI firmware for Windows activation. However, this automatic process doesn't apply to Microsoft Office.

Here are the steps you can take to attempt recovery of your Microsoft Office key:

Check Documents and Emails: If your Microsoft Office Student 2021 came with your HP Victus, there's a chance the key was provided in the documentation that came with your computer or via email if you registered your laptop with HP or Microsoft.

Microsoft Support: If you can provide proof of purchase for your HP Victus and that it came with Microsoft Office Student 2021, Microsoft support might assist you in recovering your product key or providing an alternative solution.

Check for Recovery Partitions: Some laptops come with a recovery partition that can restore the computer to its original factory settings, including pre-installed software. If your HP Victus has such a partition and you haven't removed it, restoring from this partition might reinstall Office 2021. However, this would also remove any data or applications you've added since the original purchase, so it's a last-resort option.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
