Hi everyone, I’m running into a very specific stability issue with my HP Victus laptop (Ryzen 5 7000 Series) and a Crucial DDR5 RAM upgrade. I wanted to see if anyone else has experienced this or if there's a known firmware incompatibility.
The Spec Laptop: HP Victus fb1013dx
The system recognizes the RAM and boots into Windows, but after a few minutes of use, it consistently crashes with the following Blue Screen errors:
PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA (0x50)
KERNEL_MODE_HEAP_CORRUPTION
- STOR_STRUCTURE_CORRUPTI
Troubleshooting steps I've already taken:
Clean install of Windows.
Updated BIOS to the latest December 2025 version.
Tested the Crucial module by itself (single channel).
Important Note: I have previously bought and installed this same RAM model (CB16GS4800) in a Lenovo Legion laptop, and it worked flawlessly. However, on this HP Victus, it fails every time.
I have already requested a replacement because of the errors. But how do I know it is not just a compatibility issue, the RAM also corrupted the Windows installation to the point where even if I installed the original RAM stick back, the OS didn't boot and could not be repaired.

I ended up having the store replace the RAM with a new one, and so far the stick is working ok in flex mode.

Insert your original RAM, install Windows, and update it. Then download and install CPU-Z, open it, go to the SPD tab, and post a screenshot so I can check your original RAM specs. After that, I can tell you which RAM to buy.
Crucial is a good brand, but some users do experience rare compatibility issues with higher frequency RAM like 5600 MHz or 4800 MHz. So return it and let me tell you which one to get.
