Hi @Divyahapani,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like your HP Victus laptop is experiencing issues related to power management and possibly overheating, especially under the load of gaming. Here are several steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve this issue:

Check for Overheating:

  • Gaming can cause your laptop to generate a lot of heat. If the internal components overheat, the laptop will shut down automatically to prevent damage. Make sure the cooling vents are not blocked and the laptop is well-ventilated. Consider using a cooling pad to help manage the temperature.
  • Clean the fans and air vents to ensure there's no dust buildup which can impact cooling efficiency.

Inspect the Power Supply:

  • Ensure that your charger and power cord are in good condition and correctly connected. A faulty charger can cause the laptop to shut down due to insufficient power.
  • Check if the battery is functioning correctly. In some cases, a failing battery can cause power issues even when plugged in.

Update BIOS and Drivers:

  • Outdated BIOS and system drivers can lead to performance issues. Check HP's official website for any BIOS or driver updates specifically for your model.

Adjust Power Settings:

  • Go to the power management settings in Windows and adjust them for high performance, especially when plugged in. This can sometimes resolve issues where the system isn't utilizing the power correctly for high-demand activities like gaming.

Monitor System Performance:

  • Use task manager or a hardware monitoring tool to check the CPU and GPU temperatures and usage statistics. This can give you insights into whether your hardware is being pushed too hard or overheating during gaming sessions.

System Diagnostics:

  • Run HP’s hardware diagnostics to check for any hardware-related issues. You can typically access this by hitting F2 or a similar key during boot-up.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
