Is it OK to add a 16 GB RAM to along with the existing 8 GB. Will it cause any trouble?

If you run an 8 GB + 16 GB configuration, that is 24 GB running in single channel mode.
In order to have the memory run in the higher performing dual channel mode, you would have to install 2 x 8 GB or 2 x 16 GB.
If you plan on replacing the 8 GB memory chip with a 16 GB memory chip in the future, definitely install the 16 GB memory chip now.
24 GB running in single channel mode is probably better than 2 x 8 GB (16 GB) running in dual channel mode.

Hi:
That will be fine, but the memory will still only run in single channel mode like it is now.
In order for memory to run in dual channel mode, you have to install memory in matching capacities (2 x 8 GB, 2 x 16 GB).
