I have purchased a new HP omen ce-001nx laptop only a few months back, in mid May to be exact, and it has been working well until like in 25/7, when I started getting BSODs very frequently, where the laptop freezes for about 2-4 seconds before showing the BSOD, and if there was an audio running it turns into a noise as if the audio itself froze, and then the BSOD pops up. It doesn't always have to be the same error; in fact, I have been getting several errors, some of which are system_thread_exception_not_handled and irql_not_less_or_equal where the cause is most of the times dxgmms2.sys, otherwise the cause is not shown. Also, the battery seemed to die faster and the fans were on high speed though the laptop wasn't really hot and no CPU heavy processes where running - in fact, sometimes no program war really running at all. I have researched the problem a lot, and some have been saying that Microsoft had recently released some updates that aren't compatible with certain versions of NVIDIA drivers, so they offered a solution to downgrade the NVIDIA drivers to the factory version, which I did but didn't stop the BSODs from springing up. There were no recent software changes, and no hardware changes. I also did a clean windows reinstall two days ago, where the problem appeared to have vanished, but I still got one BSOD today, though the fans are now working fine and the battery is good again. I ran the windows system checks and HP component test and they all reported that the hardware is fine. I tried to upgradee and downgrade the NVIDIA drivers a couple of times hoping that it would fix the problem. Please help me out in this. It has been only a very short time since I have bought this device and hope there is nothing wrong with it. Thanks in advance.

Hello @Lapretso
I see you did a reinstall of Windows 10. Is Windows fully updated now?
IF not, go to All Settings>Update and Security and manually initiate searching for updates until there are no more.
Then go to the Search bar and type...
Advanced System Settings
then hit the Enter key.
Under the Advanced tab, go to Startup and Recovery and click the Settings button.
Then look for a box next to Automatically restart and uncheck it.
Next time you have a BSOD, it will remain on screen so you can copy the error message given. That will hopefully help you to determine the cause of the blue screen.
It might be that once you're fully updated, there wont be anymore BSOD's.
Keeping fingers crossed.
Know that you can also contact HP Support directly for a warranty issue if you wish.

Thank you for your reply @Photoray002. I actually checked for windows updates and it found two updates:
I have also disabled that automatic restart on system failure. There is something I forgot to mention in the main question, however: I also have linux installed on the device, and whenever I use linux, the system never fails. Doesn't this assure that the problem is not a hardware issue amd that it is most probably just windows updtaes being incompatible with some drivers? Thank you in advance.

@Photoray002 Ok so I have installed all windows updates and even updated the NVIDIA drivers (which I don't know if it will solve the problem or add insult to injury). The system now shows that it's up to date and no more updates are available. I updated the NVIDIA drivers through Geforce experience (I got the latest game ready driver). After a while I started Metro 2033 to check if I may get a BSOD again, and unfortunately, I did. The error this time was: DRIVER IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL and what failed was nvlddmkm.sys. Also, after I restarted the device, windows seemed to hang after a few seconds, and I could do nothing more but hard power off the laptop. I am currently writing this from the Linux distro as it seems to work very well (which comforts me that the problem is not a hardware issue). I alsow forgot to tell that one of the BSODs I have been getting before was PAGE FAULT IN NONPAGED AREA. Thank you in advance.

OK Thanks.
Download and install Guru 3D Display Driver Uninstaller.
https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html
In Safe Mode, go to the Device Manager and right click the Intel graphics and disable it.
Go to Action>Scan for hardware changes and click it.
Exit the Device Manager
Run the Guru 3D uninstaller.
Choose to Clean and Restart to remove everything.
Restart in normal mode and search folder for any leftovers of the Nvidia software and delete it.
Now install the latest version of the Nvidia drivers but do not choose to install the Geforce Experience.
https://www.nvidia.com/Download/driverResults.aspx/137272/en-us
Once installed, go to the Nvidia Control Panel, select Manage 3D settings. On the right side, choose the Global tab.
Scroll to Power management mode and change it to Prefer maximum performance.
Try the game again.

Sorry for the late response. Yeah I forgot to enable both graphics drivers. Now I opened the game and after around a minute the game itself crashed, and now it would crash on startup every time I try to open it (the game, not windows. Windows is working fine till now.). I tried playing another one; it worked for around 10 minutes and then crashed and would crash on startup, too. I tried disabling the antivirus to see if it is blocking it, but that didn't work, nor did changing the game compatibility settings.
