While playing a video game, the screen went blank. There is still fan noise. I tried to turn it off by pressing the power button, but there is no response, and the fan noise persisted. I disconnected the plug, but the issue remains. Sometimes the screen appears for 1-2 seconds, but it is a black screen.
I cant close, ı cant open.

Hi @yunussss,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It seems your HP Victus 16 may have encountered a hardware or firmware issue causing it to become unresponsive with a black screen, even though the fans continue running. Here are some steps you can follow to troubleshoot.
Force Shutdown.
- Press and hold the power button for at least 10-15 seconds until the system powers off completely.
- Wait for a few seconds, then try turning it back on.
Disconnect Power Sources.
- Unplug the laptop from its power adapter.
- If possible, disconnect the battery (if your laptop allows for easy access to the internal battery).
- Hold the power button for 30 seconds to discharge residual power.
- Reconnect the battery and power adapter, then try turning it on.
Check the Display:
- If the screen briefly lights up but remains black, try connecting your laptop to an external monitor or TV using HDMI or another video output cable to determine if the issue is related to the internal display.
- If an external monitor works, the issue might be with the display panel, display cable, or GPU.
- If it doesn’t work, it could indicate a deeper hardware issue.
Perform a BIOS Recovery:
- Sometimes, corrupted BIOS settings can cause such issues. Attempt a BIOS recovery:
- Turn off the laptop.
- Press and hold the Windows key + B, then press and hold the power button for about 2-3 seconds before releasing the power button (keep holding Windows + B).
- The system should attempt to restore the BIOS.
Reset the Hardware:
If the above steps don’t resolve the issue, a hardware reset might be needed:
- Disconnect power sources and battery.
- Reseat components like the RAM and SSD (if you're comfortable opening the laptop).
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
