@skyraj, Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
Check Device Manager
- Press Windows + X and select Device Manager.
- Scroll down and find Imaging Devices. Expand it and check if your camera is listed.
- If you see a yellow triangle or a question mark, right-click on the camera device and select Update Driver.
- If no camera is listed, try the next steps.
Enable the Camera
- Press Windows + I to open Settings.
- Go to Privacy > Camera.
- Ensure the option Allow apps to access your camera is turned on.
- Scroll down and make sure that apps you want to use with the camera (like Zoom, Teams, etc.) have access to it.
Check for Driver Updates
- Open Device Manager again.
- Right-click your camera under Imaging Devices, then select Update Driver.
- Choose Search automatically for updated driver software and follow the on-screen instructions.
Check for Windows Updates
- Sometimes, a Windows update can fix the issue.
- Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and click Check for updates.

Restart Your Laptop
- After doing the above steps, restart your laptop and check if the camera works.
Reinstall Camera Driver
- In Device Manager, right-click the camera under Imaging Devices and select Uninstall Device.
- Restart your computer, and Windows will automatically reinstall the drivers.
Check Your Camera App Settings
- If you’re using a specific app (e.g., Zoom, Skype), go to the settings in the app and make sure the correct camera is selected.
- Sometimes, these apps might default to a different camera or have specific settings that need adjusting.
I hope these steps help resolve the issue
