Long story short: got an Omen laptop for about 4 months, ran into some issues, contacted support using HP Support Assistant, support ran a few updates on my PC and said they'll check in with me in a day or two through email (the updates did not fix the problem) , got an email today from HP Service Support AMS saying that it's actually a hardware issue and that they would like to know where I live to pick up the laptop for repairs.
Don't know how much I can trust this, first of all this laptop is fairly new so it's strange how there is already hardware issues. Second, what if it's a scam and they never return the laptop?
I don't know if I'm being too paranoid here, but can someone please tell me if this is something HP actually do.

Ill ask the Admins to have a rep contact you via a private message on this forum.
As far as hardware issues with it only 4 months old? Its possible. HP sells a lot of computers and there is going to be something that can happen every once in a while.

Ok thanks a lot. The thing is, this laptop is actually a replacement already, the first one I bought stopped working completely after 2 months and I had to go through a 1 month rma process. That's why it's a bit hard to believe that I got 2 defective product in a roll...

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).
If you are unfamiliar with how the Community's private message capability works, you can learn about that here.
