Hi there!Since I bought HP omen laptop 15-dh1070wm (core i7 10750H , gtx 1660ti , windows 11 ) I had temp issue , The fan is at full speed under load , And the strangest thing cpu temp reach 100 C when loading the GPU Although the cpu usage is under 20%
The steps I tried to fix this issue but it didn't help me :
1- disable cpu clock boost by reduce cpu usage to 99% in power option .
2-repaste the cpu and gpu thermal paste using thermal paste grizzly kryonaut
So I'm just wondering, is there a fix, or is this a hardware problem , I bought the laptop since 1 yearand I live in country does not exist any official HP maintenance center .
for more information please check attached photos
sorry for my bad English

Hi @fantastic111990,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Omen laptop is running at a high CPU temperature even though the CPU usage is under 20%, it could be due to several reasons. Here are some potential causes and solutions.
- Dust accumulation: Over time, dust can accumulate on the fan and heat sink, which can block the airflow and cause the CPU to overheat. Solution: Use compressed air to blow out any dust from the fan and heat sink.
- Insufficient cooling: The built-in cooling system of the laptop might not be able to handle the heat generated by the CPU. Solution: Consider purchasing a cooling pad or a laptop cooling fan to help dissipate the heat.
- Outdated drivers: If the CPU temperature issue started after updating drivers or operating system, there may be a compatibility issue. Solution: Check the manufacturer's website for any updated drivers or patches that may address this issue.
- Malware or viruses: Some malware and viruses can cause high CPU usage, which in turn causes overheating. Solution: Run a full virus scan with your antivirus software to detect and remove any threats.
- Overclocking: Overclocking the CPU can increase its performance, but it can also cause it to overheat. Solution: Reset the CPU settings to their default values.
- High ambient temperature: If the ambient temperature around the laptop is high, it can contribute to the overheating of the CPU. Solution: Place the laptop in a cooler area, or use a fan to circulate the air around the laptop.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

hello Alden
Thanks for your replay ,
sorry but all your solution not work with me !
Dust accumulation: Over time : I al ready open the laptop repaste the thermal paste and clean laptop dust ( the laptop only six month used )
Insufficient cooling : I already purchase a cooling pad and it is not affect that mush (only two degree decrease )
Outdated drivers: all of my drivers is up to date .
Malware or viruses: I did my full scan and no virus or malware found
Overclocking: no overclocking applied and the opposite applied ( I disabled the turbo boost be setting the max cpu usage to 99%)
High ambient temperature: no High ambient temperature around the laptop ( I am running AC cooling ).
I deeply regret the purchase of laptop from HP .
