Hi @Kraxy,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

It’s not just you, your HP Victus 15-fa2701TX is designed without the classic “High Performance” power plan or “Performance Mode” preset in Omen Gaming Hub. Here’s why that’s intentional, and what you can do instead:

Why "High Performance" & Omen Performance Mode Are Missing

  • Modern Standby (S0) power model:
Your laptop uses a newer modern standby system that does not support classic power schemes like High Performance. Windows only shows Balanced mode under this model.
  • Performance mode support depends on GPU & firmware:
Many HP Victus laptops (especially those with entry-level GPUs like GTX 1650 or RX 6500M) offer only Eco, Quiet, and Balanced modes in Omen Gaming Hub. Full Performance Mode is reserved for higher-end configurations.

What You Can Do

1. Use the Command Line to Bring Back the High Performance Plan

If you still want Windows to explicitly show it (though functionality differences are minimal under Modern Standby):

  • Open Command Prompt as Administrator and run:
  • powercfg -duplicatescheme 8c5e7fda-e8bf-4a96-9a85-a6e23a8c635c
  • Open Power Options (Win + R → type powercfg.cpl) to view the newly added High Performance plan.

2. Adjust Performance via Omen Gaming Hub

  • Keep using Balanced (for general use), and switch to Eco or Quiet when you need to reduce fan noise or energy draw.
  • If your laptop supports it, updating OMEN Gaming Hub, BIOS, and your chipset/graphics drivers via HP Support Assistant may reveal extra modes, but some configurations simply don’t include Performance Mode.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!

This is normal on newer HP/Victus laptops. High Performance is often hidden or merged into Balanced. Use: Windows 11: Settings → System → Power & battery → Power mode → Best performance OMEN Gaming Hub: Balanced handles performance dynamically Make sure BIOS and HP drivers are up to date.
