Before you get offended, I asked what the temperatures are because DIDN'T post them in your original post. How am I supposed to know what it is? Adding details helps us know what you're seeing, right? 😉

You don't have your vents blocked with dust do you? It has plenty of air flow?

Those Pavilion gaming laptops run hot to begin with. If its staying in the 85 degree range, that's about what others experience also.

Otherwise, You have a couple of options.

Some users have reverted to undervolting with a tool like Intels XTU or ThrottleStop. Dropping the CPU voltage runs it a little cooler this way.

You could try re-pasting the heat sink, but if you're under warranty, you should have HP do this for you.

Did you check the task manager to make sure you don't have unnecessary services running while gaming?

Is the laptop fully up to date with windows updates and is the bios up to date (F.18)?

Or you can contact HP Support for a warranty issue and they can discuss it directly with you.

YES that all. This isnt HP Support direct. We are volunteers here.

Those units run hot and there is no magic wand I can wave.

If you arent willing to try undervolting, then contact HP Support DIRECTLY.

There are tons of thread here about this very subject and that is the only verdict most have found successful.
