OMEN by HP Laptop PC - 15-ax040tx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I was already following the steps in http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c05357609. I got to the part of removing all the internal clips, but when I try to lift the enclosure, it’s still stuck. I think there’s still a screw in the center of the enclosure, but I don’t think the guide says anything about it (unless I somehow skipped that part). I need to open it to upgrade the RAM. Any advice?

Oh, and if it helps, I was also using this video as a guide https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=UlJyh2zHWFk&t=187s although mine has Bang & Olufsen.

there should be 9-10 screws to take out of the bottom of the laptop and use a credit card or small tiny screwdriver to take the bottom off and if you google the hp omen how to take the bottom cover off it should give you a diagram.

@Kiel08 , welcome to the forum.

It appears that there are 11 screws holding the back of the case in place.  I am looking at the diagram on Page 33 of the Guide that you provided.  Did you remove the plastic cap that covers screw #1?

Thank you for welcoming me!

My laptop doesn't have a cap encircled here https://imgur.com/1fC4h9q, which is why I assumed I only need to remove 10 screws. But I do see something that might be a plastic cap covering another screw, albeit in a different place than what is in the diagram. Do you happen to know how to safely remove the cap? Sorry, I'm new to this.

Alright! So, I searched for more videos (this one https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=NboZy8exzQw, and the first one in my original post also helped). The videos assured me that there were no hidden screws. And as it turned out, I had already removed ALL screws and there were no screws beneath a plastic cap. There was just a really stubborn clip in the center! Disassembling this laptop is not for the faint of heart. I gasped I was even able to take it off!

Thank you, @Eddie411 and @Old_geekster, for your assistance!

This laptop is much faster now with the WD Black NVMe M.2 2280 1TB! The process is fairly easy and can be done at home, so go pick up a WD drive and get started! Newegg - https://bit.ly/2AodXn4 WD Site - https://bit.ly/2JpXpLM 👉 NTG4+ Microphone Provided by Rode🎤 👉 Buy one here - ...
