Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I just bought this expensive gaming PC and it only has a 720 resolution camera.  How embarrassing for HP.  Anyway, is there a way to upgrade this crappy camera to a higher resolution?  my 5 year old notebook has a better camera.  Geez.  thanks.

I reviewed your post and I understand that you want to upgrade the webcam on your computer.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

I would like to inform you that you will not be able to upgrade the webcam on the computer. However, you can use an external webcam with better resolution on the computer. You can purchase an external webcam of your choice and it should work fine with the computer and most of the external webcams use the USB port for power and connection and they are easy to install and use.

I hope that answers your question and you have a great day!

Thanks for your reply. It's unfortunate that HP doesn't provide higher resolution and quality for the embedded cameras. Low quality 720p doesn't meet table stakes these days. Even though there are no official embedded cameras that are supported, does HP offer 1080p embedded cameras on other laptops that would fit? I really dont want to go the usb camera route.

I recommend you check with the HP sales team and they will be able to assist you in this regard. However, personally, I would suggest using an external webcam as most of the webcams on the laptops are not suitable for video calling or video conference.
