Hi @iamabhi_civil93,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are trying to increase the size of the C drive on your HP Gaming Pavilion - 15-Cx0141tx running Windows 10 (64-bit), you can follow these steps:
Check Disk Space and Current Partition Layout:
- First, check how much free space you have on your C drive and the overall partition layout. You can do this by:
- Right-clicking on This PC or Computer on your desktop or in File Explorer.
- Select Manage to open the Computer Management window.
- Click on Disk Management under Storage.
Backup Important Data:
- Before resizing partitions, it's crucial to back up any important data on your C drive. While the process is generally safe, it's a precautionary step.
Shrink Another Partition (if needed):
- If there is adjacent unallocated space on your hard drive after another partition (like D drive), you can shrink that partition to create unallocated space.
- Right-click on the partition you want to shrink (e.g., D drive).
- Select Shrink Volume and follow the prompts to shrink it to create unallocated space.
Extend C Drive:
- Once you have unallocated space next to your C drive (or if you've already created unallocated space):
- Right-click on the C drive partition.
- Select Extend Volume.
- Follow the wizard to add the unallocated space to your C drive.
Restart Your Computer:
- After extending the C drive, restart your computer to apply the changes.
Refer to this document: HP Gaming Pavilion - 15-cx0141tx User manual
I hope this helps.
