Hello there.
I have recently bought a Omen Max 16 / 5090 / 64 RAM and i was excited to use my Reverb G2 on it since i just had a massive upgrade on GPU. (Coming from GTX 1650)
Since there isn't any DP port on laptop i ordered a Type C to DP 1.4 adapter for my G2 but i am having issues with the conection.
I red on this site that one Type C port connects to DGpu but i cant get it to work and i have lost hope on it.
Is there any way i can connect my G2 to my Max 16?

Thanks for your answer!
Fortunately i managed to fix it yesterday by doing a Bios reset by holding power button for 30 seconds and Windows + B.
My iGPU was disabled from start and i just couldnt get my Nvidia Card to work until yesterday.
I hope someone finds this useful 🙂

Hi @ZenSRC,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out!
Sorry for the inconvenience caused and don’t worry let me help you.
To better understand the issue, could you please provide a few more details?
- Does Windows Mixed Reality recognize the headset at all?
- Do you see any error messages or does the headset simply stay dark?
- Which exact USB-C port are you using on the Omen Max 16 (since some may be wired to the iGPU instead of the dGPU)?
Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try in the meantime:
- Check GPU routing: Only one USB-C/Thunderbolt port is directly connected to the NVIDIA GPU. If you haven’t already, try each USB-C port to see if one works better.
- Adapter compatibility: Make sure your USB-C to DisplayPort adapter explicitly supports DP 1.4 and VR headsets. Some adapters only support monitors and can cause handshake issues.
- Driver updates: Update your NVIDIA drivers, Windows Mixed Reality Portal, and the headset firmware. Outdated drivers can prevent proper detection.
- USB power: The Reverb G2 requires a stable USB 3.0 connection. Try plugging the headset’s USB into a different port.
- Disable hybrid graphics: In BIOS or NVIDIA Control Panel, check if there’s an option to force the laptop to use the dGPU for external displays.
I hope this helps.
