I have an HP Victus 16-s0117nq laptop, and I had an hp tools partition and a system recovery partition, next to them was an empty 15gb partition that I deleted before installing Windows 11. However, the HP_TOOLS partition disappeared with it. I want to recover it, but I don't want to wipe my os or anything. Is there any way to recreate this partition and any way to get the files for it back from HP?

Hi @Onyxcho_Lune,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
If you've accidentally deleted the HP_TOOLS partition on your HP Victus 16-s0117nq laptop but don't want to wipe your current OS, there is still a way to recreate and restore the HP_TOOLS partition. Here’s how to do it according to HP’s recommended steps.
Step 1: Check if the Partition Is Recoverable
Before proceeding, verify if the partition was just deleted or if it's fully gone:
- Right-click on the Start menu and select Disk Management.
- Look for the HP_TOOLS partition (if it's still there but not labeled correctly).
- If you find it, you can try assigning a drive letter to it and check if it works.
- If you don’t see it, continue with the steps below.
Step 2: Download HP Recovery Tools
You can recreate the HP_TOOLS partition using the HP Recovery Tool. Here's what you need to do:
- Visit HP’s official support website:
Go to the HP Support page. - Search for your laptop model:
Enter HP Victus 16-s0117nq in the search bar and go to the drivers and downloads section. - Download the HP Recovery Manager or HP Recovery Tools:
Look for HP Recovery Manager (or similar tools for your model) under the software and drivers section. - Install the tool:
- After downloading the recovery tools, install them on your system and check.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Under the software and drivers downloads for my laptop, there is neither hp recovery manager, nor hp recovery tools. There is the prompt to download hp cloud recovery from the ms store, but I've tried that. It doesn't find anything for my model.
