Hi @PauloAre,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP U28 4K HDR monitor is flashing on and off while connected to your Mac Studio M1 running macOS Sonoma 14.5, it could be due to several reasons. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try.
Check Connections:
- Ensure that the monitor’s power cable is securely connected.
- Check the connection between the monitor and your Mac Studio. If you're using an HDMI or DisplayPort cable, make sure it is firmly plugged in at both ends.
- Try using a different cable or port to rule out a faulty cable or port.
Adjust Display Settings:
- Go to System Settings > Displays on your Mac and check the resolution settings. Ensure that the resolution is set to 3840 x 2160 (4K).
- Try changing the refresh rate to see if it stabilizes the display.
Update macOS and Firmware:
- Ensure your macOS is up to date. Sometimes, bugs in the operating system can cause display issues.
- Check if there’s a firmware update available for your HP monitor on the HP support website.
Reset the Monitor:
- Try resetting the monitor to factory settings. Refer to the monitor’s user manual for instructions on how to perform a factory reset.
Check for External Interference:
- Ensure that there are no other electronic devices nearby that might be causing interference.
Test with Another Device:
- Connect the monitor to a different computer or device to see if the issue persists. This can help determine if the problem lies with the monitor or the Mac Studio.
Power Cycle:
- Turn off the monitor and unplug it from the power source for a few minutes. Plug it back in and turn it on again.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
