Microsoft Windows 11

Hello,

As many others on here, I'm also experiencing problems with my HP Victus 16.1 not connecting to my wifi network.

I already tryed many of the options I found on here, yet nothing seems to work. Connection sometimes last for one minute but after that it stops and I'm unable to reconnect to the same network.

Help please 😉

Hi @jefstas,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP Victus 16.1 laptop is having trouble staying connected to your Wi-Fi network, there are several steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the issue. Here are some general steps you can follow.

Restart your Laptop:

  • Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve connectivity issues.

Restart Your Router:

  • Power cycle your router by unplugging it, waiting for about 10 seconds, and then plugging it back in. This can help refresh the connection.

Forget and Reconnect to Wi-Fi:

  • Forget the Wi-Fi network on your laptop and then reconnect.
    • Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Wi-Fi.
    • Click on your Wi-Fi network, and select "Forget."
    • Reconnect by selecting the network and entering the password.

Update Network Drivers:

  • Ensure that your network drivers are up to date. You can go to the Device Manager, find your network adapter, right-click, and select "Update driver."

Check for Interference:

  • Other electronic devices or neighboring networks can interfere with your Wi-Fi signal. Make sure your router is placed in a central location, away from electronic devices.

Change Wi-Fi Channel:

  • Access your router settings and try changing the Wi-Fi channel. This can be done by logging into your router through a web browser.

Disable Power Management for the Wi-Fi Adapter:

  • Go to Device Manager, find your Wi-Fi adapter, right-click, and go to Properties. In the Power Management tab, uncheck the option that allows the computer to turn off the device to save power.

Reset TCP/IP:

  • Open Command Prompt as an administrator and type the following commands:

netsh winsock reset

netsh int ip reset

ipconfig /release

ipconfig /renew

Update Firmware/BIOS:

  • Check if there are any firmware or BIOS updates available for your laptop on the HP support website.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
