Since few days (oc after the warranty) my victus seems to shut off after a few seconds in a game. But no. I hear the in-game sound still on my headset and the fans are working. But no display and the lights of my keyboard and mouse going off. And after few minutes or later the screen comes back, sometimes it flashes including the light oder the power button and the keyboard. What the hell is going on

@Darki84, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your HP Victus that can not diagnose the error!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
From what you've described, it sounds like the display is cutting out while the system is still running, which could point to a few possible causes:
Overheating Issues
Gaming pushes the system hard, and if the laptop is overheating, it might be triggering a temporary shutdown of the display.
Try monitoring temperatures using tools like HWMonitor. If temps are high, clean the vents and ensure the laptop is on a hard surface for proper airflow.
Graphics Driver Issues
Corrupt or outdated GPU drivers can cause display malfunctions.
Try updating your graphics drivers (both integrated and dedicated GPU) through Device Manager or directly from NVIDIA/AMD’s website.
Power Settings & Performance Mode
Your laptop might be switching power states incorrectly.
Go to Control Panel > Power Options > Choose High Performance Mode.
Also, check the HP Omen Gaming Hub to see if any performance settings need adjusting.
RAM or GPU Connection Issue
Loose or faulty RAM/GPU connections can cause temporary display loss.
If you’re comfortable, try reseating the RAM (or get a technician to check it).
BIOS and Windows Updates
Outdated BIOS/firmware can cause power-related issues.
Check for updates in HP Support Assistant or the HP website under your model’s support page.
External Display Test
If possible, connect an external monitor to see if the issue persists. If the external display works fine, the issue might be with the laptop’s screen or connectors.
Let me know how it goes!
Take care, and have an amazing day!

Ad Overheating Issues
If a company is selling GAMING LAPTOPS, then the they should not have problems with gaming. If they have, shame on you. All my games where limited @ 60 Hz and Upscaling (DLSS) was avaiable, so the GPU was chilling with 40-50 % of energy consumption and max 60 degree. When your laptops can't handle this, then give the customers their money back.
Ad Graphics Driver Issues
GPU driver deinstalled, same Problems with the integrated aGPU. GPU driver complete new installed, same problems.
Ad External Display Test
Did, and still same issues.
A specialist notebook repair company has identified a defective motherboard as the cause of the error.
Congratulations! 15 months after my purchase such a defect of a "brand product". Laptop cost 1500 EUR, the repair cost now 500 EUR.
This was my last HP product ever. Also in my company where I`m the IT manager.
Is there any compensation on your part?
