Hello, I bought the Hp omen 15-ce0xx about a month ago. Its been working fine until now. I use the laptop with an external monitor, acer predator xb241. My main monitor is the acer predator. I use duel screen. The problem is when i watch youtube or any video on one screen and browse the internet on the other screen, when i load a web page the video clip and the web page would freeze up. It varies in time, around 5-10 seconds.
Another issue is that sometimes when i play video games i would need my laptop to be plugged in or i would get a massive FPS drop, from 80 to 30. When i plug it back in it would be better.
Thank you.

Thanks for reaching out to us on HP Support Forums. 🙂 I came across your post and would like to help.
I understand that you have an HP Omen 15-ce0xx laptop I read that when you connect an external monitor and play Youtube video on one screen and browse the internet on the other screen, the video clip and the web page would freeze up. Also, the fps drops if the charger is not plugged in.
I would like to know the following information to assist you better:
- If the external monitor is disconnected and the Youtube video and internet is surfed on the laptop screen. Then does it freeze? If yes then please perform the slow internet troubleshooting steps from this HP article.
I recommend you to perform the following steps to isolate the issue and arrive at a fix:
-
Go to Start Menu > click on Settings.
-
Type performance > choose Adjust the appearance and performance of Windows.
-
In the new window, go to the Visual Effects and select Adjust for best performance.
-
click Apply and ok...this should do the trick.
If the FPS continues to drop when the charger is disconnected then set the power plan to high performance:
- Search and open power options.
- Select the "high performance power plan".
- Close the power options Window.
If the issues persist then please perform the following updates on the laptop:
I genuinely hope the issue gets resolved without hassles and the unit works great. Please feel free to keep me posted. Good luck! 🙂
