As i play forza horizon 5 the cpu reaches approx 98 above degree celcius monitored using hwinfo even cpu is used 40 to 100 % average 50% used and as i test cinebench r23 multi core for 10 min it reaches 100 degree celcius in only 1 sec as started ,i noticed as cpu reaches 100% usage it reaches 100 degrees one time my laptops processor is i5 12450 h and rtx 2050 GPU dedicated highest temp i seened is 103 degrees while gaming only 20 min forza horizon 5 in medium graphics settings  i also tested in gta 5 my laptop is only 4 months old one time motherboard has been changed when it was of approx 2 months some days after i tested it it heats up very fast as it reaches 100 % cpu usage but as the usage drops it also cool down fast but 103 degree is very high . The motherboard was changed because the gpu was stucked in 17 W not pulling so lags persists at that moment before motherboard changed and fps was also low approx 30 fps from 80 fps dropped but replacing motherboard solved it. Now the gpu temps are always approx 80 Degree or less average 65 degrees which is good but processor is badly  heating. Please tell me should i contact with hp service or not?

Thank you for reaching out. Regarding your Hp victus overheating issue that you’re experiencing.


Kindly review the instructions as below :

- Check for Game Compatibility and Minimum Specification , same for the device as well

- play the game on any other similar device to test the environment and any other game of the same specs

- Share the CPU details from task manager when the game is running

- were there any recent win or hardware upgrades

- Share more product details like serial number , product number , complete model name

We at HP do not encourage using 3rd party accessories or devices , hardware upgrades unless advised in any form of hp documentation

- Find all relevant guides and drivers from the support page here on best effort basis with the limited details that we have about the device  -
