Pavilion gaming 15- ec0100AX
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I purchased my laptop recently and found out that the 1TB HDD it comes with is extremely slow to boot up, to open apps and it has also affected the gaming performance considerably.

So I am planning to upgrade the storage to SSD, probably a 512GB SSD and would like to know if my laptop's motherboard supports m.2 NVME SSD.

Also I would like to know if it is possible or if it is okay for me to install windows 10 on the SSD so that it would be a much more smoother experience. Or would I face any issue.

Hi:

Yes your notebook's M.2 slot supports NVMe SSD's.

Below is the link to the service manual.   Chapter 1 has the supported drive types.

Yes, you can install W10 on the SSD and it should run great.

The only thing is, you may first have to remove Windows from the hard drive or it will always want to boot from the hard drive and not the SSD.
