If your HP computer is not turning on after being in sleep mode for a few hours, here are some troubleshooting steps you can follow:

  1. Wake Up the Computer:

    • Ensure that you are pressing the correct button to wake up the computer. If you are using a laptop, press the power button briefly.
    • Try pressing any key on the keyboard, moving the mouse, or using the remote control (if applicable).
  2. Power Cycle:

    • Disconnect the power supply and remove the battery (if removable).
    • Press and hold the power button for about 15-20 seconds to discharge any remaining electrical charge.
    • Reconnect the power supply and battery, and try turning on the computer.
  3. Check Power Settings:

    • Verify the power settings to ensure that the computer is set to wake from sleep mode properly.
    • Click the Windows Start Button, go to Control Panel > System and Maintenance > Power Options, and adjust the settings.
  4. Update Drivers:

    • Make sure that your power management and system drivers are up to date. This can often resolve sleep mode-related issues.
  5. Hard Reset:

    • For desktops: Unplug the power cord, wait a few minutes, plug it back in, and try turning on the computer.
    • For laptops: Remove the battery if possible, disconnect the charger, wait a few minutes, then reconnect everything and power on.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
