Hello! I have bought a "HP Victus 15 Gaming Laptop" a week ago. I'm hearing a sound just like a "whistle" from my PC every time. And when im playing a game, it is even more louder than my fans and i don't think this is normal. I'm scared that my PC is broken, so i want to know if this is normal or not. Thank you!

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.
It's understandable to be concerned when your new HP Victus 15 Gaming Laptop starts making unusual noises, especially a whistling sound. Here are some possible explanations and steps you can take to address the issue:
Fan Noise: High-performance gaming laptops often have powerful cooling systems that can generate significant fan noise. However, if the noise resembles a whistle, it might not be typical fan operation.
Coil Whine: A common source of unusual sounds in laptops is coil whine, which is a high-pitched sound caused by the electronics inside the laptop, particularly the graphics card. This can become more noticeable during gaming due to increased power draw.
Loose Components: Sometimes, parts or screws inside the laptop can become loose, creating unusual noises when the laptop is in operation.
Steps to Troubleshoot and Resolve the Noise Issue:
Check for Updates: Ensure that your laptop's drivers and BIOS are up to date. Sometimes, updates can resolve hardware management issues.
Power Settings: Adjusting the power settings to a more balanced mode can help reduce the noise by decreasing the load on the components.
Environment: Use the laptop in a cool environment. Overheating can exacerbate noise issues.
Inspect Fans: Carefully check if the fans are clean and free from obstructions. Sometimes dust can accumulate, affecting fan operation.
Professional Service: Given the laptop's new condition, consider contacting HP Support for professional assistance or service, especially if the sound is consistent and disruptive.
Cooling Pads: If the noise is from the fan, using a cooling pad might help keep the laptop temperatures down, potentially reducing fan noise.
Since you've just purchased the laptop, it's advisable to reach out to HP Support for further guidance and possible warranty service.
