Product: HP Pavilion 15-ak003ns Gaming

Good evening!!

I have an HP Pavilion 15-ak003ns Gaming laptop, and I would like to upgrade its RAM (currently 16 GB) to 32 GB. Is this possible?

Good evening:

 

Yes, since your notebook has an Intel® Core™ i7-6700HQ processor, it can support 2 x 16 GB of DDR4-2133 MHz CL15 memory.

 

You can also install DDR4-2400 CL17, DDR4-2666 CL19 or DDR4-3200 CL22 but it will all run at 2133 MHz because that is as fast as your notebook's processor can run the memory at.

 

You can confirm the 32 GB total by running this command as administrator in Windows Powershell:

 

Get-CimInstance -ClassName Win32_PhysicalMemoryArray | Select-Object MaxCapacityEx, MemoryDevices

 

The service manual indicates the max is 2 x 8 GB but that is an understatement.
