Hello everyone,
so recently I upgraded my internet at home from 100 Mbps to 400 Mbps and change my old router to a higher end one that supports wifi 6 and gigabit port (TP Link ax 3000), i get round 400-420 Mbps on my phone on 5Ghz channel near the router, however on my omen laptop *OMEN by HP 17-w200 Laptop PC series* i only seem to be able to get 150 Mbps on a good test, my downloads from steam and other platforms are around 8 mb/s, i went through the laptop manual and did some research on the wifi chip + the ethernet port and if i remember correctly the wifi chip supports up to 480+ Mbps; when i tried ethernet i only get 90 Mbps on my speed test.
i am really frustrated as the network upgrade in my house cost me a good penny, and i would love to enjoy it to the max.
i appreciate you help strangers, have a wonderful day.
Bests

I have the same issue using a brand new HP Elitebook 840 G8, i7-1165G7 with Wifi AX 160 connecting to a Huawei Wifi 6 Router. I'm on a rock solid Hyperoptic Gigabit Synchronous line. Ethernet connected speedtests show my line at approx 940Mbps Up and Down. The line speed from the router to the laptop reports as great at 2402Mbps but all speedtests (I tend to prefer speed.cloudflare.com) come in at only around 100Mbps.
In contrast, my work iPhone SE2020 and my HP Chromebook 360 both do 300 up and down, my Note 20 Ultra (Wifi 6) does around 750 up and down but the Elitebook barely gets scrapes over 100 and should, in theory be the quickest. . Windows even proudly announced my Wifi could do more when I 1st connected. Any ideas greatly appreciated.
