I have been using the Thunderbolt port on my device to connect my headphones. During this period, I occasionally noticed brief instances of electrical noise, followed by its disappearance. One day, when attempting to utilize the device's camera, it failed to function. Consequently, I sought assistance from an authorized HP representative in my country.

Upon diagnosis, it was determined that the motherboard had incurred damage. In light of this, I am seeking clarification regarding the safety of connecting headphones to the port depicted in the accompanying image. Additionally, I am eager to receive any expert advice on best practices to minimize the risk of future motherboard damage.

I really recommend a magnetic adapter for all USB-C ports especially any that are used for charging.

The slim L shaped work well on tablets and break away if the cable is tripped on or pulled inadvertantly.

check reviews and ensure the connector is good for data transfer, not just charging.

Check also that the device does not block adjacent ports.
