After Windows Update attempted to install the 22H2 update, my Omen Laptop started to go bonkers. A major issue here was due to Virtualization and VBS. For some reason, I lost control of my fans and the Omen Gaming Hub due to the update forcing on VBS by default. Then, it removed the Core Isolation Page from my settings so that I could not turn off memory integrity. I tried to format and perform a system reset to factory, but the process forces you to update no matter what.
Looking online, I found a few different ways to supposedly disable VBS, but I could not locate them on my system. Not in Device Manager, nor in Windows Features.
The other weird thing that happened with the attempted 22H2 update was that my NVIDIA app decided to reinstall a clean copy of the game ready drivers without permission.
Eventually, I was able to find a work around.
First, I opened the command prompt with elevated permissions and went
bcdedit/set hypervisorlaunchtype off
Then, I booted to the BIOS and disabled virtualization.
After that, I was able to update the Omen Gaming Hub and regain control of my fans.
I updated all of my drivers, and I am able to play most games again. However, Halo seems to crash every time I attempt multiplayer.
Does anyone have any idea whats really going on?? HP wants me to send it in under warranty, but I really hate to do that.
Like, what if it gets all messed up. I spent a lot of money in this, and its super important to me.
Any Help Would Be Awesome!!
