Hi! I'm having the exact same problem but with more than a half of the keyboard, could you please share how did you fixed it? It's worrying me a lot and I can't find any answers for this. Thanks

@Mionysus
Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.
Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:
- What is the product number of your device? Use this link to find it: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03754824 (Ensure you do not share any of your personal information such as serial, phone number, email ID, etc...).
- What is the operating system?
- Have you made any hardware/software changes?
- Have you tried any troubleshooting steps?
While you respond to that, let's try these steps:
Let's perform Windows Update and HP Support Assistant:
To check for updates now, select the Start button, and then go to Settings > Update & security > Windows Update, and select Check for updates.
Install updates from Go to Download HP Support Assistant to install the tool.HP Support Assistant:
- To open HP Support Assistant, double-click the HP Support Assistant icon
. - Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.
- Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.
- Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.
- Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.
- Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
Please click “Accept as Solution” if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others find the solution.

@Echo_Lake
Thanks for answering.
I did all the steps but none of the updates solved this problem. I'm using a OMEN by HP Laptop 15-dc0xxx with the last Windows 10 update. I tried to do several troubleshootings, even tried to restore the lighting defaulfs for the keyboard in Omen Command Center but the lights don't have the same color as before and it's noticeable the lights are dimmed. I really tried everything but nothing solved this problem.

I appreciate your efforts to try and resolve the issue.
Let's try this:
Firstly, install the HP System Event utility
http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp71501-72000/sp71716.exe
Next, Omen Control software
http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp70501-71000/sp70894.exe
How to use the HP Omen X control software
HP Notebook PCs- Using and customizing the Omen Control software
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

@Echo_Lake
I installed both of them but when I tried to run the HP Omen Control it didn't work "because SynCom.DLL was not found" and I'm guessing it's because my Omen Software is not compatible with Omen Control.
