Recently my pc has shut down unexpectedly from gaming and wouldn’t turn back on after a few days, it wouldn’t turn on, nor charge at all! Today i’ve seen that the carving light to indicate your pc is charging was on so i immediately cracked it open and turned on the laptop and it gave me a black screen explaining checksum needed to be resettled back to default. After that i clicked the okay to do so and it booted back up perfectly fine until i find out the Keyboard and touchpad isn’t responding at all leaving me unable to get past my lock screen. i’ve tried connecting external mouses and keyboards to different ports but nothing works i’ve checked to see if i could turn on the lights for the internal laptop keyboard but no response, checked too see if the caps lock light turns on, no response as well! the usb ports for external devices work perfectly fine, i’ve also tried booting to the repair mode and it seems the touchpad works there but not on safe mode. is there a way i could fix this without having to factory reset or system restore my pc?

Hi@ReneEspinosa, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

I understand that touchpad has stopped working on your PC.

As you mentioned that touchpad is not getting listed in the device manager.

Have you tried checking with an external mouse? Does the external mouse work?

BIOS is updated?

Please try the steps recommended below.

Click the Device Settings or the Click Pad Settings tab of Mouse Properties. If you have a Synaptic device, the tab includes the Synaptic icon.

Select the desired touchpad under the Devices list, and then click either Enable to turn on the device.

On some touchpads, you can turn the Touchpad on or off by double tapping in the upper-left corner of the Touchpad. Double tap to turn the Touchpad on, repeat to turn the Touchpad off.

Refer to this article to further troubleshoot touchpad issues.

If the issue still persists please provide the product number of your PC.

I will try to find the best driver available for your PC.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
