Thank you for sharing the photos and details. Based on what you describe -the keyboard and body appearing to bulge -this is definitely not normal for an HP Omen 16 laptop. The most common cause for this kind of bulge is a swollen battery, which can be a safety hazard.

Here's what you should do:

  1. Stop using the laptop on battery power. If possible, keep it plugged in but avoid leaving it unattended or under heavy load.

  2. Check the battery carefully: if the bottom panel can be removed safely, look for a rounded, "pillowed" battery pouch -that is a classic sign of swelling. Do not attempt to puncture or press the battery.

  3. Contact HP Support (India) immediately. Since your laptop is new -or so I assume, it should be covered under warranty. Explain that the keyboard/body is bulging and you suspect a swollen battery -HP may replace the battery or even the entire unit.

  4. Avoid using the laptop extensively until it has been inspected or serviced!

It's also possible (though less likely) that the bulge is due to chassis misfit or assembly issues, but given the common reports of HP Omen laptops experiencing battery swelling, the safest assumption is to treat it as a (defective) battery concern.

Safety first: do not ignore the bulge -swollen lithium batteries can be dangerous. HP will provide a replacement if your laptop is under warranty.
