If the keyboard issue can be reproduced immediately after powering on the computer, try pressing F2 repeatedly during startup to enter the HP UEFI Hardware Diagnostics tool. Then navigate to Component Tests → Keyboard and run the keyboard test.

If the issue, such as repeated keystrokes, incorrect key input, or unintended typing, can also be reproduced during the diagnostic test, it is unlikely to be related to Windows or drivers since they are not loaded in that environment. In that case, the problem is most likely hardware-related, and you may want to have the device inspected by an authorized HP service center.

And how do I locate one. And what if they are very far away?

What would the cost be if the guarantee expired?

Thanks.

You can search for an HP authorized service center in your city. If inspection or repair is required, we recommend contacting the service center directly to confirm any applicable costs, as fees may vary depending on the specific issue and service required.
