The game Counter-Strike 2 was running perfectly and smoothly, but about two weeks ago, I was prompted to install a new NVIDIA GeForce update.
I proceeded with the update, and ever since then, I have been facing major and frequent performance issues (lagging/freezing) in Counter-Strike 2.
I hope to receive a quick response regarding this serious issue.

Hi @Noor53,.
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
I’m sorry you’re going through this; I understand the concern and don’t worry I’ll help you with this.
To better understand the issue, could you please provide a few more details?
- Which NVIDIA driver version did you update to?
- Are you running any other programs in the background while gaming?
- Do you notice the lag constantly, or mostly during specific moments or maps?
- Has anything else changed in your system around the same time (Windows updates, other software, overclocking, etc.)?
- What are your GPU and CPU temperatures during gameplay?
Troubleshooting steps you can try:
1. Roll back the NVIDIA driver
- Open Device Manager → Display adapters → NVIDIA GPU → Properties → Driver tab → Roll Back Driver
- This often resolves performance issues caused by new driver updates.
2. Clean install the latest driver
- Download the latest Game Ready Driver from NVIDIA’s website
- Use Custom Installation → Clean Install to remove old files and prevent conflicts.
3. Optimize in-game settings
- Reset all game settings to default
4. Monitor GPU/CPU usage
- Use Task Manager to see if your GPU or CPU is hitting 100%
5. Check Windows updates and background processes
- Sometimes new drivers conflict with other system updates
- Make sure Windows and background apps aren’t using excessive resources
I hope this helps
