I was playing some Conan Exiles with a few friends over the weekend, and my laptop just restarted itself. Upon rebooting, the BIOS came up and said that the system temperature was too high, something along the lines of this:
System temperature too high - (90D)
This was also the case when I also played No Man's Sky, a while back. But the puzzling issue is this, it only happens when I play these game for like 3 days or so. I'm an avid gamer, and I play a lot of games, but none of the more graphics demanding games or heavy performance games have this issue. Games such as Elite Dangerous, For Honor, Battlefield 4 and so on, arguably are heavier, when it comes to performance and graphics, yet my laptop does not force restart/shutdown to reduce the temperature. The only times that my laptop force restart/shutdown is when I play Conan Exiles or No Man's Sky for 3 days, of course not 3 days straight. If it helps, I do play games quite a lot when I have free time, somewhere around 8 hours to 12 hours or so.
I've done some digging around and downloaded MSI Afterburner and changed my processor power performance from [Max] 90 (before) to 80 (after), and [Min] 100 (before) to 50 (after). My vents are clear, I can feel hot air from the left side vents, as well as the rear vents. I have an external cooling fan on max, and HP Coolsense is on all the time.
As a finishing note, I do understand that laptops have a higher idle temperature compared to desktops, but if there is any way to reduce the temperature from spiking to 87 - 95 degrees celcius when gaming, would be a great. Thank you for your time!

NVIDIA GTX 1070
Intel Core i7 7700HQ COU @ 2.8GHz
32GB RAM
1TB HDD
~500GB SSD
Hardware Temperatures:
Idle CPU Temp: 55 degrees celcius [min], 78 degrees celcius [max]
Idle GPU Temp: 50 degrees celcius [min], 59 degrees celcius [max]

EDIT: So, after a few days, I decided to run Conan Exiles again, and my CPU temperature was doing a stable 70 - 74 degrees celcius average. I also downloaded Intel Extreme Tuning Utility, and reduced my Power Boost from 45.000MW to 20.000MW. It did reduce the temperature by a lot, but lo and behold, it still came up with the message:
System Temperature - (90D)
I assume it might be my vents, or it could mean that I need to re-apply cooling gel on my processor, but still, I would really appreciate some opinions. Thank you

I have updated the BIOS so far, and I will continue to do some more testing on my laptop. I hope this should be the fix to my problem.
AS for the other instructions, I have yet to do them, but I will keep you posted.

After updating the BIOS, I tried to launch Conan Exiles to do further testing, however, upon launching twice, my laptop went to a blue screen with these messages:
1. DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION
2. KERNEL_SECURITY_CHECK_FAILURE
A blue screen is the last thing I need after updating my BIOS. I made sure that the serial number was accurate, and I rechecked the drivers list, and the BIOS file is still there. I will try and test again, if my laptop allows it. If there is no reply, then assume that the problem still persists.

Update:
I updated every other driver that I could update with the link KrazyToad gave me. I have tried launching other games, and thank God there are no problems. If it helps, I've done an sfc/scannow command, and it turns out I have some corrupted files. When checking the CBS Log, there's just this massive notepad file with no more than 500 - 700 lines, and I don't know how to fix those corrupted files.
Anyways, my laptop is fine, I think. There isn't any weird noises, the BSoDs have only popped up when I tried to launch Conan Exiles. I don't know about now, but I will try when I have time, but I think it will produce another BSoD. If there is anything else I'm missing, please let me know.

Try the steps recommended below.

Right-click the Start icon and select Device Manager.

Expand IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers.

Select the controller with “SATA AHCI” in its name (such as Standard SATA AHCI Controller). To verify that you’ve selected the right controller, right-click the controller, select Properties, click the Driver tab, and then Driver Details. Verify that iastor.sys is a listed driver, and click OK.

From the Driver tab, select Update Driver…

Select Browse my computer for driver software.

Select Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer.

Select Standard SATA AHCI Controller.
Click Next, then Close, and then restart your computer.
Also, try running a system diagnostics test on the PC and check if the hardware components on the PC are functioning correctly.
