HP Pavilion Gaming - 15-dk0047tx
Microsoft Windows 11

Laptop freezes while playing games with a buzzing sound, volume of the sound varies. Has been happening for roughly a year. Happens only when laptop is plugged in while playing games. Laptop has been cleaned recently. Temporary solution that worked was unplugging the laptop for around 10 seconds every 5 minutes to keep it from doing that, but now even that does not work. All drivers are updated, recently updated to Windows 11 after which the hp website said it does not provide support for this OS on my laptop. BIOS is updated. Please help 😞

Experiencing a laptop freeze with a loud buzzing sound while playing games can be indicative of various issues. Here are some potential reasons and solutions:

  1. Overheating:

    • Issue: Intense gaming can lead to overheating, causing the system to freeze.
    • Solution: Ensure your laptop is well-ventilated. Consider using a cooling pad to help dissipate heat. Cleaning the laptop's vents and fans can also improve airflow.
  2. Hardware Issues:

    • Issue: Faulty hardware components, such as the graphics card or RAM, can lead to crashes

I thought it was a power setting too since I used to have it on high performance, but I have since tried balanced and power efficiency modes too but the same thing happens. All the graphics settings on all games are also set to the lowest they can be. I use a cooling pad already and recently opened and cleaned it as well.

I already use a cooling pad and clean the laptop regularly. Last I cleaned it was around 15 days ago. Is there any way to find out if its a component issue?
